Paessler operates the cloud instance, including updates and backups. Local probes collect measurements from your networks.

Sensors, not just devices
A sensor represents a monitoring task, such as a disk or network interface. One device can require several sensors.
Protocols & probe placement
Match SNMP, WMI, SSH, HTTP, flow or API checks to supported devices, credentials and network paths.
Growth & service reporting
Plan polling intervals, sensor volume and server distribution. Review enterprise extensions when you need multi-server or SLA views.
Sensor availability varies by probe platform, device and PRTG release. Choose the edition, capacity and extensions after mapping the monitoring scope; Hosted Monitor and self-managed editions are not identical in every feature.
